Texas Best Lobbying News: Attorney General Abbott Urges Enhanced Consumer Protection, Privacy Rules for Obamacare ‘Navigators’
Attorney General Greg Abbott is currently pushing very hard for more extensive consumer protection and a higher level of confidentiality in insurance companies. Abbott recently wrote a letter to Texas Insurance Commissioner Julia Rathgeber, requesting this and advocating for new state policies to help prevent identity theft and fraud. Many other state attorneys have expressed these same concerns. Attorney General Abbott is specifically concerned by those involved with Obamacare having too much private access to Texas citizen’s information.
