#1 Senate District 25
Jeff Wentworth, Republican incumbent is seeking election against Republican opponents Donna Campbell and Elizabeth Ames Jones.
#2 Senate District 9
Republican legislator Chris Harris is leaving his elected position. Two Republicans are seeking his seat. Kelly Hancock and Todd Smith.
#3 Senate District 30
Republican Craig Estes is seeking re-election against a tough opponent – Jim Herblin – in a race that is already heating up.
#4 Senate District 11
Mike Jackson – incumbent Republican – is running for congress, leaving an empty seat and a tight race between 3 Republicans. Dave Norman, Larry Taylor, and Daniel McCool.
#5 Senate District 4
Mike Galloway (Former Republican Senator) is throwing his hat back in the ring. He’s in a tough primary fight with incumbent Tommy Williams from the Woodlands.

Robert Nichols, incumbent Republican is in a battle with Tea Party leader from East Texas, Tammy Blair.

Some say Steve Ogden is the most powerful senator in Texas. But he is retiring. Hs open seat is being contested by Charles Schwertner and Ben Bius, both Republicans.

Republican incumbent Kel Selinger seeks re-election against a tough opponent in Randy Rives. This race is heating up as Rives accuses Selinger of not being a true conservative.
