Among much recent news of big business expansion in Texas, Panda Power Funds has chosen to build a new plant in Sherman, just about an hour north of Dallas. This company is based in Dallas and hopes to start construction as soon as possible. Panda Power Funds has been around since 1982 and promotes investments and movement forward in solar power and natural gas energy. They are responsible for building the two largest gas-fueled electric generation facilities in the United States. These two plants generate over 4,500 megawatts of power, providing a massive amount of energy. Panda is widely considered to be on the most earth friendly companies in the industry, providing and advancing upon multiple sustainable energy options.
“Panda has extensive experience in conceptual design and construction management. The company has consistently brought projects in on time and under budget. When building the 2,250 megawatt El Dorado facility, for example, Panda constructed a 42-mile, 30-inch interstate natural gas pipeline, capable of moving 400,000 MMBtu of natural gas per day at a cost of $35 million.”
Panda has been given multiple awards and much recognition for high quality work in the field. They have successfully developed and currently run ten power plants throughout the United States, and these efforts cost over 6 billion dollars.
Energy requires a great deal of investment. Creating and distributing energy in an effective way is not inexpensive, or anywhere near easy. Therefore, it is important to invest in energy that is not finite and detrimental to the environment. If you are already spending a great deal of money to develop means for energy, it is perhaps a good idea to think long term. Energy is not something that people won’t someday have a high demand for. Long term, a resource that will not run out is the better option for facilities and energy sources. Panda credits their hard work and efforts towards an experienced team of caring and hardworking individuals.
Panda’s latest expansion to Sherman is a welcome one. Providing more jobs, and spreading business throughout the state is good and very welcome news for Texas.
